Make Humans

Rigged 3D bodies built to match the measured US adult population. Each person's stature and body mass come from NHANES, the CDC's national health survey (2015–2018), for their sex, ancestry and age group, at the 10th, 50th or 90th percentile. Bodies are made with MakeHuman (MPFB) in Blender. They wear plain underwear and stand in a neutral pose with the arms at the sides.

Read with care. These are model figures, not real people.

• Waist, hip and arm are measured on each body and shown next to the survey values; only stature and mass are fitted.
• MakeHuman's heaviest body is around BMI 32 for women, so the heaviest women are lighter than their targets (marked ⚠).
• MakeHuman has no Hispanic phenotype, so those figures are approximate.
